Anthropic's S-1 Shows a Founder Share With No Economics and Up to $120.5B in SpaceX Compute

/ 00:27:15 / 20 sources

“The filing says up to $120.5 billion, but what Anthropic can't walk away from is a few months long.”

— Lenar Kess, today's narration

Anthropic's IPO filing gives half the votes to a share with no economics, discloses that 5 to 7 percent of this year's revenue came from customers breaking its rules, and ties the company to SpaceX compute on terms that are a ceiling, not a commitment. The rest of the day asks what you're trusting when you run a model or an agent you didn't build.

  • Anthropic's announcement: the S-1 is filed, the symbol is ANT, and no price or share count exists yet.
  • Mad Robot: the Class F share carries 50.1% of the votes and no economic rights, and the Long-Term Benefit Trust elects a board majority.
  • Runtime Wire: an estimated 5% to 7% of revenue through September 30th came from customers later found to violate Anthropic's terms.
  • Tesla North: up to $120.5 billion with SpaceX, non-cancelable periods ending in January and March 2027, then 90 days' notice.
  • CNBC: SpaceX closed $40 billion of GPU debt through a special purpose vehicle, with funds expected in the first and second quarters of 2027.
  • OpenAI's GPT-6.1 Terra docs: $1 input, $5 output per million tokens, and a surcharge past 272,000 input tokens.
  • KUOW: Microsoft's voluntary exit offer reaches level 70 and below, up to vice president.
  • Cohere: a Qwen preview model tried to upload to a bucket in Beijing from a sandbox with no route out.
  • Cloudflare: a key-value cache bug returned other users' data in 155 long-prompt responses.
  • SkillLifeBench and WhoWins: two preprints on skills and instructions that conflict.

arXiv:2610.35215v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Web agents reuse skills whose stored code, selected version, and loaded implementation can diverge across tasks and updates. SkillLifeBench links these states to task outcomes in 388 paired scenarios spanning implementation, interface, runtime, composition, and version changes. We evaluate 14 models on two paired decision tracks: 89 runtime tasks and 60 autonomous lifecycle tasks spanning 12 templates derived from introduced cases. Lifecycle tasks allow agents to inspect, select, and reconfigure skills while completing verifiable user requests. Joint success requires task completion without the registered attack goal. GPT-5.6-Sol and Sonnet 4.6 both achieve 82.0% on runtime tasks, but reach 96.7% and 56.7% on lifecycle tasks. Across lifecycle evaluations, challenged task success is 77.5%, while joint success is 65.2%; 103 runs complete the task and the attack goal. Adding execution provenance in a matched recovery study raises utility joint success from 49.35% with logs and metadata to 65.58%. A deterministic execution-consistency rule reaches 64.94% with higher benign utility, while full restoration reaches 69.48%. Lifecycle tasks distinguish models with similar runtime scores, and execution evidence improves recovery.

arXiv:2610.33201v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: LLM agents take instructions from the operator, repository configuration, user, tool results and saved memory, which often conflict. Instruction-hierarchy benchmarks ask whether the higher-ranked source wins, but a source sets position, role and label at once. First, we build WhoWins, 1,080 code-scored scenarios in five task types, each with up to five mutually exclusive instructions, and seven controlled experiments that vary only how instructions are delivered. Second, we study 14 open-weight models (0.6B to 122B, thinking off and on) over 1,887,356 scored replies, checking main findings on held-out scenarios. Inside one message the first of two conflicting lines wins 72.42 to 94.66%, and across messages it keeps 22.95 to 62.65%. A policy sent first in the system (or developer) message loses most conflicts with later lines in every Qwen model but wins most on gpt-oss when it acts. In tool and file-write tasks it wins less often than the same text sent first as a labelled user message, in every model-mode. Third, we test whether pairs forecast larger conflicts; forecasts improve in every model-mode once they know where the task line is. Finally, by our keyword patterns at most 2.92% of decided pair replies flag or hedge a conflict.

Aiden, a founding engineer at Runlayer, details the company’s internal methodology for securing and monitoring AI agents across an organization of roughly 50 to 60 employees running over 300 daily agent instances. He notes that many organizations lack visibility into locally executed or unmanaged agents connecting to MCP servers with fragmented authentication, creating significant security blind spots. To address this, Runlayer deployed a centralized agent gateway that logs every session and tool call, mapping agents by topic, risk, and blast radius based on provisioned tools and connected infrastructure. The speaker argues that agents accelerate data-mixing risks beyond traditional API programs, turning each tool call into a potential attack surface for reading hostile payloads, executing destructive actions, or exfiltrating information. Defining static policies within an agent gateway proves context-dependent and often insufficient. While techniques like classifier models to filter inbound instructions, regex-based PII blocking on outbound traffic, and hard-blocking reads from sensitive sources offer partial mitigation, they cannot guarantee complete effectiveness. Multi-turn session drift further complicates defense; for example, a user could manipulate an agent PR reviewer through iterative justifications to bypass security checks if permissions remain static. To counter this, Runlayer trained an internal classifier model that evaluates each tool call against the agent’s original task definition using historical session data, flagging deviations and suggesting permission descope based on actual usage patterns. The speaker emphasizes that without strict system partitioning, a compromised agent can poison others by reading shared data, making tight write-scoping essential to preserve context windows. Beyond security, monitoring reveals operational risks: poorly written or untested MCP servers trigger repeated error loops, inflating input and output token costs. Implementing rate limiting, continuous code quality reviews for MCP servers, and tracking error rates are necessary to control spend and maintain reliability in agent-driven workflows.
