Privacy Policy

Last updated June 1, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Braid (“we,” “us,” or the “site”), operated by Marcus Vorwaller and published at braid.opentangle.com, handles information. The short version: we collect as little as possible. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Visiting the site

You can read everything on braid.opentangle.com — show pages, episodes, show notes, and transcripts — without an account and without giving us any personal information. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. Like virtually all web servers, our hosting infrastructure keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser user-agent, and the page requested) for security and to keep the service running. These logs are not used to identify you and are not combined with any other data.

The newsletter (the one time we ask for data)

If — and only if — you choose to subscribe to a newsletter, we collect the email address you provide. We use it solely to send you that newsletter.

  • Subscriptions are confirmed with a double opt-in: we email you to confirm before any newsletter is sent.
  • Every newsletter includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can remove yourself at any time.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share your email address with third parties, except for the email-delivery provider needed to actually send the messages.
  • You can request deletion of your email and subscription record at any time by contacting us at the address below.

Data retention

We keep newsletter email addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Technical server logs are rotated and discarded on a short schedule.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep access restricted and credentials protected.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
